I make a custom label using Word. I use either commercial fabric for printing or I sometimes back a 8.5 x 11 inch piece of fabric with freezer paper and print on that with my ink jet printer. If you iron it on the back first and then use your ruler and rotary cutter (I use a blade that is about ready to be replaced), to cut it to the right size, it comes out well. I usually cut it to size before removing the freezer paper, and then rinse and heat set with my iron after printing and removing the freezer paper--makes it permanent

The commercial fabric for printing is really dense, so if I use that I will fuse it on rather than trying to sew it on.

It's really easy to create a custom label with Word. You can specify the size, get clear words on the label, and add either a photo, or a clip art.

Hi All, Thanks for the suggestions. I think the first thing I'll try is the Bubble Jet -- if that works well, it sounds like the best solution. I live far from everything, so I'll have to order it, but I'll let you all know after I've tried it. Happy New Year! Robin
