I finished the quilting on one of the baby quilts so it is ready for binding. I have some outline stitching and the quilting left on the border of the other baby quilt. It has gone really fast. I am also working on the sawtooth stars for the 2009 BOM and that is going really, really slow. I want to move on.

I have not had a moment to stictch since I went back to work a couple of weeks ago.

I have gathered all my fabric and plan to sew strada or a Timms Kaliescope .... taking it to retreat on the 13th of March. I hope to have it ready to piece together. They have great design board that I can use. It is really hard to do this kind of quilt at home because I do not have any design areas.

SEW ONE NEEDLE/ THREAD WORTH a day. ThIS is to keep a person on task because LIFE LIKE TO INTERFER.

I have been so bogged down this spring by LIFE EVENTS ... good and bad I have been loosing my drive to work on ANY SEWING. I watch quiting DVDs and shows but got very little sewing done. ......( just the christening quilt) ... I now want to dedicate one needle a day to keep me going.

I am making this thread to mark my progress. I am hoping others will joing me and declair what sewing they have done for the day when not much sewing is possible. Maybe we can inspire each other to keep going.

A long while back I posted TILDE TOPIC THREAD REVISITED.... it is for anyone that wants to discuss their daily sewing goals... it helps to keep a person on tract of a sewing project. It also helps to share with others.

Well Hello I am a bit excited because I picked up my elephant quilt yesterday and posted it on my TQS today, thrilled with the quilting that was done for me and feel it makes the quilt, it was a panel I bought and have made it in a very simple style using a EQ6 pattern with different grass fabrics. I would have loved to make this into a art quilt but don’t have the experience for that yet and could not wait until I did…..LOL

I am making a really great stash quilt that looks like a lot of work but is very easy, I would have to say it’s the easiest quilt I have made and good for a beginner. I like the idea of having something that i can turn to when i am feeling lazy or just not up to one that needs a bit more of the brain...LOL

I am also making two cot quilts one each for boy and girl for my daughter....that way I have one ready when its born. The boy one is absolutely beautiful fabric..... Children with the backs to you in sailor type clothing on the beach....mostly in blues. The girl one is a trendy panel with a pram and love that one too.

I am also doing the star crazy BOM which is great and I love it, I find as i have only been quilting for about 5 years it’s taking me out of my comfort zone. and making me do blocks that I have thought nahh that looks a bit hard....LOL

I am also making my first wall hanging and it’s about 1 meter square and ask if anyone has any knowledge on the batting, I am a bit concerned that the edges will start to fold inwards, so any advice would be warmly welcomed.

I ALSO have four quilts to hand quilt and it’s to hot here in Australia at the moment but as our autumn starts will get on with those.

Well Ihad better stop chatting as most likely will drive you all mad.

            Regards Jill - Australia

Kind of off on my quilting projects. Need a good swift kick in the pants. So yesterday on a beautiful sunny saturday and no one home, I worked on my SIL's quilt. She asked me to add a border onto a store bought quilt. the border is added, sandwitched, and I am now in the process of marking and basting. It's a simple grid quilting and should get done fairly fast.

Okay, so swift kick in pants didn't work so well. Once again life gets in the way. Now that roof is repaired, ceiling dry board and painted, and spring vacation to SC done, i hope to get back to sewing. "I pledge to get something done between furnis cleaning and spring cleaning (dumpster on its way) Oh yeah and clearing rooms for new flooring." Wish me luck.

A little over a week ago, I finished the log cabin quilt that I was repairing. Now I have to clean it and then get it back to my friend.

not sewing, but in my sewing room. While cleaning the room, i did look at my quilt sitting on the machine. I even lifted up a corner to get papers out from under it. :-) Next time I will turn on the machine.

Success, I have the quilt border to the point of trimming and adding binding. I have workers in my home and was forced to stay home....
This is the last day for my new floors, and that should get the binding done..

BTW, Darla (my cat) kept trying to sleep on the quilt, so I quickly made a really nice pouffy cushion for her that only took 10 minutes and she still would rather snuggle in the quilt. I have to physically place her in the basket with the cushion. Like a kid will see how much she can get away with.

Put my last stitch in the binding for a baby quilt. MY FIRST two sided binding and it came out pretty good.... Used Elmers WASHABLE school glue to hold it into place, so the edge would not roll until I got it stiched.

Washed out like a dream. Will post pictures soon.

I'm hard at work finishing up The Rose by Friday. I'm almost done with the quilting then I need to add the borders and quilt them and bind it.
