    New/Old Hoop!!

Imagine this: family is going out, we get to the main drive of our subdivision. Not unusual, there's an unmarked sheriff's car, b/c this is a favorite place to catch speeders. Only a few FEET in front of the sheriff is.... a quilting hoop on a stand. There are a few other things nearby, and we've seen things before. I don't know the family but I know they've been hit by some personal issues which explains some recent "house cleaning" of this type... take it before the trash folk haul it away. I gasp & holler QUILTING HOOP! DH says, you want it? Sure! he pulls a U-turn, we're now across the street, we send George (age 11) across the road to grab it & toss it in the trunk... all RIGHT in front of this cop!! DH pulls forward, rolls down his window, calls to the cop "Quilting addict!"... cop smiles, DH pulls another U-turn, and off we go!

So now I've got it-- I am NOT (yet?) a hand-quilter-- but as far as I can tell it has all it's parts...How cool is that??

I'd love to know what the policeman was thinking, Florence!

I take it you'll hot-foot it now to Alex's classroom for the hand quilting lessons.

I've been watching the lessons all along... tempting, but MUST finish the graduation quilts, then better get back to the 2008 BOM... and I think if I decide to take up hand quilting, I'd better start on something smaller than that!!

Florence, good luck with your new frame--I hope you love hand quilting as much as I do! I find it so relaxing. Judy in Torrance

            WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY cool, Florence!
Wonder if they threw thimbles, etc out too!

I love the softness of a hand quilted quilt -- I still enjoy hand quilting but have so much fun doing applique and free motion I don't do much hand quilting any more . . . give it a whirl!

You saved yourself enough money scoring that hoop that you can buy more fabric!!!

I think I'll pay more attention to people's garbage from now on!
