    Need ideas for guild newsletter

I am now the editor for the Guild NEWSLETTER... We are trying to get more people to sign up for the email version. I am trying to entice them by providing with them with active links to various sites... ( Yes TQS is my favorite link, already provided but it will be repeated. )

I need other ideas of what can be provided in an email format that will entice more people to sign up for the newsletter.... it can not be so elaborate that I spend all my time on the news letter and do not have the time or energy to quilt...

Thanks in advance for the help

What about quilt shop discounts or a BOM that is only found in the online newsletter?

      Anna,
Best reason to sign up for the newsletter on-line. It saves your guild money. Figure out how much it costs to print and mail one newsletter. Point out that for every newsletter that you don't send in the mail, your guild has that money to bring in speakers or do whatever else your guild does.

One thing we tend to forget is that not everyone has a computer and might not have access to an online newsletter.

We are just trying to get the number of mailed newsletter... postage cost almost as much as the printing. We still have copies available at the meetings.

Anyone who does not have a computer/internet gets a mailed issue, automatically. We do restrict the size of the newsletter to max 4 pages.

If they want a B.O.M. or printed pattern they have to pay and extra $.25 to $.50 for a copy. I can email them directions easily and I do.

We have also pointed out the saving to the guild.

I just want information links that will entice people go get the email version. So I am looking for special features that will encourage them to switch ie.

            Dear Ladyrags,

Our guild is experiencing the same issue. Our membership includes many who are aging, don't own PCs, or just are unwilling to give up their paper copies of the newletter. It's been quite a contentious issue for some, but no one is willing to pay for the ever rising costs to continue producing and mailing the paper copies. I, too, would like to hear from someone who has successfully resolved this issue.
