Update on Converter boxes ---- July 08

I have had the converter box for a month and on a whole I do like it because of the increased channels offered... I really like PBS / Creat Station... no extra QUILT SHOWS... I guess quilters did not support PBS enough during the fundraising drives.

I can still get Fons and Porter, Sewing with Nancy and America Quilts.. Donna Dewberry does sewing project sometimes on her segment.... I dislike the HOME DEC and Home improvement shows... their projects and sewing skills leave a lot to be desired. I really miss the Kaye Woods Quilt Show... the quilting was great even if the productions values were a little dated and sub par.

They are suppose to have Georgia Bonesteel segments but I have not seen them yet and they are not on the immediate schedule...

The quality of the broadcast is for the most part better but I frequently loose the signal especially in bad weather... this is suppose to improve according to the articles I have read when all the stations go to HDTV digital signal... I was also told I might need to get a newer antenna....

This antenna worked just fine with analogue so that burns me big time.... After all this sntenna is only 25 YEARS OLD... not old at all. We may get one of those multidirectional antennas that pick up all channels for several hundred miles... we will see... I personally do not think we will need it but my hubby thinks otherwise.

He just wants to watch more sports stations

        UPDATE SEPT O8

I hate the new DIGITAL CONVERTER ( I have had mine for 4 months now) BOXES... I think we are going to get shafted again.... a few drops of rain and the signal is GONE..... PEOPLE who watch FREE TV are going to get shafted ...I refuse to pay for cable/ or dish.

I have to go to the kitchen and watch TV on the TV in the house without the converter box... everything else has lost the signal....

In bad weather before the picture may have been fuzzy and the sound slightly off but AT LEAST I HAD A PICTURE and could watch what I wanted when I wanted....

        CONVERTER BOXES SUCK...

I am now done with my tirade !!!

Well LadyRags I lost cable 4 times yesterday. Which is admittedly unusual but seems like it was a problematic day with the storms.

WE now have some competition for the dreaded comcast. Has anyone had any experience with WOW? The saleman stopped by today and I could get approximately the same service for cable/phone/high speed internet for $30 less than I'm paying for comcast. Would love to hear if anyone has had experience with this company.
