    Home made zipper hand bags

I just watched a quilt show Sewing With Nancy last night, I tape all of the quilt shows! Nancy had a guest, sorry I can't remember her name but she was showing a method of how to make a hand bag out of zipper! You can buy the zipper on a 5 yard roll. This was pretty neat, a quick/fast/fun little hand bag. Now who would of thunked this one, it's pretty kool !!! I'm amazed with all the creative stuff people can come up with and make,I'm Inspired! Now I got to go buy a 5 yard roll of zipper, Yelp another project added to my list.
So for all of those creative folks out there who make nifty hand bags please share those beautiful great ideas here.
    Thanks,Kathy

I'm pretty sure the guest you are talking about is Mary Mulari. She is best known (to me, anyway) for her patterns for transforming plain, ordinary sweatshirts into more jackets. but this zipper purse is one of hers, too, I think.

A friend of mine has a bag like that, she said she purchased it at the Girl Scouts Shop. Maybe the maker earned a badge for it? I was intrigued when I saw it and evenmore so now.

I'll be looking for that episode thanks Kathy.

I have a book that tells how to make the zipper purse that you mentioned and nine other zipper projects."Zip & Carry Bags" by Mary Mulari Published by Sullivans USA. Bought the zippers, bought the ribbons now I need the time to do the project. Betty Ann

This was taped on my television. They are cute little bags, easy enough for the younger groups to make. Fast /Fun/Easy.
