best silk or silky fabric to quilt

I want to make a wall quilt with a photo I've printed onto premium cotton. I must admit I'd like if it were of a finer cloth. I want to put a silky border of green on it and I'm wondering if they have anything at Joann's in the clothing fabric that would quilt up nicely. Any advice?? Thanks, Jan

Just about anything you like. If it frays a lot or if the texture is too light--just line it with a lightweight fusible interfacing.

Thanks, Ritzy. I have to figure out how to affix the photo on fabric to the background. I was thinking I'd sew it around the edge and couch a cord over the stitching. Ricky showed how to inset a seam in the last issue of the 500 series. That would be hard for me especially to do a whole inset into a frame that goes around 360 degrees. Jan

If you put the piping around the picture and then fold the edge under; you can stitch right next to the piping and it would give you a nice clean finish.
