See the attached which shows the seam allowance due to the light fabric in the 16 point compass star block. Is there a way to mask the seam such as using a certain batting or quilting over the seams in a certain way? Thanks for your help, as this is my 50th Wedding anniversary quilt with the center circle from my wedding dress. Trish

A cotton batt may help minimize the visibility of the seam allowances. And a light backing fabric. Try laying the block on those options and take a photo—that will give you an idea how the finished quilt will look.

You might want to use a bleached cotton batting. Unbleached cotton battings are cream colored and could make the white fabrics look dull.Comment
