    Inspiration

I never know where inspration will come from. Lately. I've been watching back episodes of The Quilt Show as I'm working. Every time I watch the show, I get an inspiration that will help with an idea I've had rattling around in my head. It will add the one step that makes my idea solidify. Thank you for the inspiring teachers, tips, and ideas you present.

I wish it would do that for me. Watching a show inspires me for a whole new quilt hence I haven't watched all my shows yet. I do love them

Inspiration from TQS shows should come with a "Quilters' Health Warning" because it can so very easily lead to the start of yet more projects. If I would give in to all that inspiration I would have another 100+ WIPs, and then all my existing WIPs would scream and shout because I won't find time to finish any of them. Big sigh and grin!

Have you discovered the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative yet? Your quilt is not allowed to be over 9 inches by 12 inches. We can watch all the shows we want and try a new technique a month at that rate! They are asking for quilts these days. http://www.alzquilts.org

My post-retirement activity has been centered around cleaning up piles of papers, books and magazines. I stored up a lot of projects for when I retire  what's my excuse now?

All this inspiration is making me get more organized in every aspect of my life. I keep thinking about what Ricky says about time being the most important gift we've been given. I don't always use it wisely and I am trying to change that.

We had a display of the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative at Quilt Colorado. It is an amazing, moving, and inspiring group of quilts.
I am no neat-nik, but I find if the studio is cluttered, I can't get going on my projects til I clean up!

I could have a little display right here. I bought several of these little quilts over the years, some in the monthly auctions, some in the 'For Sale' section on the site. I highly recommend this kind of shopping. You can satisfy your craving for fabrics without increasing your stash.
