quilting with suit wool

What I did was use a 1/4" seam and press the seams open. I think a serger might be good but I don't have one. I don't know anything about overlapping the seams so I couldn't say, sorry.

How did you do the seams, some one suggested to me that with my homemade boiled wool I should just overlap them and stitch on top. They are thick, in fact different thicknesses which is part of the reason they are still in the bin! Has anyone done the seams that way????

if your fabric is nicely boiled and felted so that it doesn't unravel, I don't see any problem with doing the seams as you describe. I have a (faux) chenille vest that I made using this type of seam -with 2 lines of stitching 1/8" apart- and it lasts very well.

Rosemary do they alternate the fabric pieces over and under, like one row on top and the other side on the bottom? or random???
