    Electric stencil cutters

Has anyone used an electric stencil cutter? What type? How well did it work? I used the olfa stencil cutter and am looking for something that is quicker and easier to use to make my own stencils. I've tried using the Golden Threads paper and don't like having to tear the paper away when I'm done quilting. Thanks, MKelley

I have an electric "pen" with a pointy tip, don't use it much because the channels for the quilting stencil comes out jagged. The tool really needs a "square" tip to burn really nice channels.

My preferred method when using a stencil is to distillate the design down to various points I need to quilt the design. I learned it from a book Quilting Inside the Lines by Pam Clarke. Maybe you can take a look at it from your local/guild library.

Thanks Renee! I will check out Pam Clark's book. I have looked at a couple of Dremel tools but haven't checked to see if the tips are square or round. Kindly, Maureen
