    How to quilt this.....

How would you quilt a 54" Dahlia? I will be appliqueing it onto a black piece of fabric. Should I echo quilt the shape of each piece? It was suggested to me to not over quilt it.

I put the picture in my personal photo's in my profile.

I suggest that you look at dahlia quilts on Flickr and see what you like/don't like. I searched Flickr for dahlia quils and saw some quilted in the ditch, one was quilted like the veins on leaves, and there was this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/47945634@N00/3389375228/

      Good Luck!

I would quilt in the ditch, then quilt in each petal.

That's pretty, but it's a lot of stops and starts and back-tracking for machine quilting!

Good point, Margo! I have a Gammill so hopefully I can find a way to reduce the start's and stops. I ordered the pattern so If you hear a loud thud from NC it 's me falling over when I see the full pattern!
