most used presser feet for Bernina
With the new Bernina promotion coming up ... buy one presser foot and get another for 1/2 price ... I need to know what presser feet might be the best to buy. I am becoming convinced that I need to purchase the walking foot which is verrrrry expensive. So I might as well get a 1/2 foot at the same time. I use my machine mostly for quilting and home decor. I currently have the reverse pattern, the buttonhole, the zipper, blindstitch, open toe embroidery, and the pintuck feet. Is there another foot that other quilters use that I should consider? Thanks for your help.Tags: None

My 1/4" patchwork foot really helps with piecing accuracy. You might consider either the #97D patchwork foot (if your Bernina takes D feet) or the #97 patchwork foot (if your Bernina will not).
I also really like my #23 clear applique foot. It makes turning curves around appliques much easier for me, and my blanket stitch or zigzag stitch around appliques looks a lot better.
I believe the #97 and #97 D feet are considerably more expensive than the #23 foot, so you might want to get the more expensive foot at 50% off now, and maybe the less expensive #23 foot at the regular price later.

In addition to the ones you mentioned, I like the number ten edge stitch foot. It has a center blade in it that helps a lot with edge stitching, stitch-in-the-ditch, adding a row of decorative stitches evenly from a seam or edge.
I also like the number 23 applique foot. It is a clear foot with a groove in the bottom that fits over satin stitching well, but my chief use of it is to apply Ricky Tims Razzle Dazzle, cording, and to make very thin piping.

Thanks for the input, Geneva. I think I might get the cording foot ... there are several pillows I want to make and using the cording foot to make piping to put around them sounds easier than using the zipper foot. Who knows, I might even decide to put some decorative cording designs on a quilt! Thank you.

Eileen, I use the cording foot for sewing down decorative threads onto quilt surfaces. Th e re is a slot under the foot that allows the machine to sew over the decorative threads. Maybe what you are thinking of is different than what I meant! Maybe you should go to your Bernina dealer and ask them to show you what the feet do. Maybe one will dance for you! Haha. just had to be silly. and maybe I called I t by the wrong name. (Probably so!.)
