Wow!!! It was beautiful before the quilting and now it is fabulous. Hope that is spelled right, but if not you all know what I mean. Will this be in some shows now? I would love to see it in person.

Beautiful appliqué quilt. How did you decide on your quilting design? I really like cross hatching, but haven't done any yet

Many thanks for your kind comments. I went for crosshatching in the centreas I was going for a classic look. I wanted the appliques to pop against the white background so went for a fairly small stipple. The wool batting helps! xx

How did you continue the lines for crosshatching around the applique pieces? Did you stop at the edge of applique and pick it up on other side? Did you mark all of the lines before you quilted?

Hi Terrina - I travelled at the edge of the appliques. I had stitched in the ditch around all the appliques before I started the crosshatching. The additional travel lines do not show on the quilt due to the loft of the wool batting. I marked a few few lines for the crosshatching in each direction to ensure I had the angles right, then used my ruler and ruler foot. Hope this helps.

Did you wash the quilt in hot or cold water?

                      I used hand hot water - 40 degrees C.
