Thank you all! This is not my first rodeo, it will be my third. I have a 4 year old and a 20 month old now - both boys. We won't announce to the whole family (just my parents) until I'm further along, but I was just bursting with excitement and I had to share with someone! I'll be sure to give you all updates as time rolls by, and before anyone asks I have no hope or expectations for gender (truly, I am one of those odd balls that has no preference). I only wish for happy and healthy. :cheer:
[hide]Congratulations. Happy and healthy is best. I have four daughters and wouldn't trade any of them. They are all adults now and I am getting my sons--1 daughter married and one getting married in June 2016. [/hide]

Geneva, you are such an inspiration to me! I too, have a Go! Cutter, and after your post, brought it back out. I was stressing over row scenes, and just decided to start with blocks, made with my Go! I did go onto the Janome site that you posted and picked a couple of blocks that I could sort of copy with the current dies that I have. Had a ball yesterday! Will work more on them today!

Marilyn, I know you have me first, and I know you have been struggling with health issues, so please take your time with my row. I don't care when I receive it! Please don't stress over it!!!

I tried to return the row kit I bought at my LQS, but they don't take back any patterns. I tried to explain that one fabric was cut too short, and the substitution on the sky fabric was not acceptable. The store owner was having none of that, gave me another sky (still not what was pictured on the kit cover page) and a slightly longer cut of the water fabric. I think what really ticked me off was when she kept telling me they went through 5 bolts of the sky fabric, just plain ran out, so made substitutions. I didn't feel that should be my problem. But, if you do the math, 5 bolts means she sold a whopping lot of row kits! You'd think she could have catered to a local regular customer, and let me return it, for a $12 credit! She made her money from them, and then some!! (The sky fabric is like 5" x 36". Divide that into 5 bolts!!!!!!!)
I'm done venting now! I'll go have fun on my GO!

I agree Dawn. Sometimes business owners forget that a little customer service goes a long way!

And about the rows. I was stressing also about what to make, etc and generally going way overboard. Once I saw the Janome site, and started using my Go cutter things became easier. And, I also realized that I can make the same block in different fabrics/placements for different rowers! Aha!

        Now I'm having fun!

Please please please don't stress over our rows!
The rowing should be fun - no one's expecting masterpieces - just nice fun stuff that we each can then turn into a quilted group hug. At least that' how I'm looking at this and certainly not as a challenge to produce a masterpiece every month - then you'll be disappointed in when you open my envelope - but I do think you will like them - have the first five months done - not because I want to send them out soon - but because i'm not sure if my workload will be much lighter in the next few months (we'll still be one or two people short in our team), and I therefore wanted a head start ...
Here's a hint of what's happening in my living room

I'll enjoy these rows hanging on my design wall for the next little while - and hopefully continue doing one here and there

Rushes off to see if I'm on Lotti's list. Comes back crying! Just as well I've not started my first row yet. I have sketched it though :cheer:

Of course you are on my list, Wendy, you're my May 2016 row...
You're also 'done' - and yes - I am keeping to your theme - in my own way :silly: :silly: :silly:

I knew there was a reason to get to work late this morning, just as I was heading out, the mail-lady dropped this into my mailbox:

                  Thank you Luann, so good!!!

Your fabric from LuAnn is just beautiful. Now we need to hear about it from LuAnn. It looks very special.

Lotti's fabric was printed by Spoonflower.com. I purchased the Spoonflower Workbook and I'm working my way thru 'reading' it! The information on the site is sufficient for beginning but the workbook really breaks the process down and then expands on it.

The image was taken at Middleton Place. There was a number of these butterflies flitting about, and they were large!

I sent her a large rectangle that I will let her decide 'how' she wants to use it.
FYI: Spoonflower prints wallpaper, giftwrap, and several different types of fabric. Quilter's cotton, canvas, silk, etc.

LuAnn, Thanks so much for the Spoonflower details. I would be interested in hearing more about your Spoonflower adventures. Sounds like they are just beginning.

Wow, Lotti/Luann, that Spoonflower fabric turned out beautiful! I've been debating playing with that, but have been afraid of how it will turn out....I might just give it a try after all!

You all are so much more ahead of me on the Rows.....I've not even started thinking yet! I had Christmas projects I had to finish (quilting the last border on the last thing today I hope)(more on that in our Retreat posts....) and then will stop and come up with my first Row before I start my son's graduation quilt. But I am not necessarily planning scenes for all or many, several will just be block designs and things like that, I hope that's okay.

I do have an idea for all those who asked for "flavor of you", which is to try a technique/pattern/idea thing I designed a very long time ago, but haven't done yet, and need to do before I put it into the quilt it is intended for. I'll do regular practice before I send them out to you guys, don't worry!

Looking forward to getting started, and can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
