Rosemary your Maxiture is amazing! I'm sure it will win! The border is the perfect addition.

Annis, love all your red quilts. You are a busy lady!

I like Bella and Kona solids. It's hard to find any here in the tri-cities. So I usually buy 5 yards of black, cream and white. I am currently using some cream that I bought before I moved here, with some Kaffe fabrics I bought a couple weeks ago for my new granddaughter's quilt. It's so nice to have it on hand.

I am stopped on the baby quilt as I am waiting for Sybil to grow tired of her affair with Mr. Fix It. Mr. Fix It says her circuit panel died and he hopes to be done this coming week. I need Sybil to embroider the baby's name. Meanwhile Constance is doing a wonderful job filling in.

We've had out almost 2 year old grandson here since Thursday night, so he's keeping us very busy! He loves my thread box. He has emptied it several times.

    Take care everyone!

I've been gone for just a bit more than a week and let me tell you, you folks do amazing things in a short amount of time. I have been busy getting life back in routine order/ laundry, groceries, garden chores. But today I am back at the sewing machine. Finally. I am thinking I might get this queen size quilt done this week. I have 2 more blocks to quilt ESD then it's just the borders. Don't know what to do there. The wide one will be just parallel lines but the green one has be stumped. I am open for ideas. Don't think I'll do more than the SID on the main body. I am thinking anymore would just get lost in the busy-ness of the scraps. I am going back to quilt that last block then it's rest time and time to ponder re the green border

Again, you folks are amazing. Can't believe all the work getting done. We are doing a great job keepin everyones nose the the grindstone.

Luann - ooooh...aaahhh. Looks like you have a computer attachment for the long-arm? That should be lots of fun! If I won the lottery...

Geneva, others who use Kona fabric, does it soften up when washed? Texture just isn't as smooth to me as other quality quilt fabrics, but. it comes in so many great colors though.

When I can't find something locally, I order fabrics online. But, I'm on yet another fabric diet, so haven't bought anything for months. Need to use up what I have. But I will make an exception for fabric needed for a specific project that will be put to immediate use and the other fabric for the project must come from my stash and constitute at least 50% of the total project. I really need to be very strict with myself.

Lois, do you have interesting decorative stitches in your machine? I used some on the 2 narrower borders of the the queen quilt I'm working on. Then I did light embroidery on the other 2 borders. A couple of ideas for you.

The Kona snow I used in one of my quilts constituted more than 50% of the top. I kept my quilting rather open so it wouldn't get stiff and by the second washing it was cuddly as could be.
Yes, there's a computer on it. I need to have it pay for itself and this was the only way I am willing to quilt for others. I love free motion enough to turn down anyone wanting me to do it for them. I want to keep that 'fun' for my quilts.

Welcome back, Lois! What a pretty quilt, love the bright colors popping through here and there. Have fun with the quilting!!!

Love your quilt, Lois! It looks like the narrow border could be left unquilted based on the density of the rest of the quilting. I'd probably quilt it anyway, but I think you could get away with leaving it. If you quilt it, I'd probably go with something curvy to contrast with all of the straight lines in the piecing. I'd look at egg and dart or swirls.

Hi Lois, your quilt is so snappy! I love all the colors. The little pink inner border is just the perfect touch. I'm with Nancy on the green border. Love that black outside border! And, how was the wedding? We'd love to some pictures. I bet everyone loved your gifts.
Wendy thanks for giving Sybil the kick in the pants. She needed to hear it from someone other than me. She just tunes me out.

It comes in at 11.5", unfortunately not quite square. The individual pieces are 1/8" x 1/2" finished.

                              Luann, enjoy your new baby.

                              Lois, great looking quilt there.

Sybil - stop mucking about and behave yourself (well, not badly!) or we might have to have 'Words'.
