You don't get feedback when you install the picture so, if others are like me, we kept clicking on different things to try to get it to work. That's how I got so many. I went back in and deleted the extras, but now I somehow deleted the photo from my photo albums, but it still appears on my profile page. That reminds me, I need to see if deleting those extras in the album also deleted them from that profile picture....

Nancy, how did you delete all those extra images? I couldn't see any way to do that at all.

I know when I was adding my profile photo, I made multiple entries when I was trying to edit it.

Let's see if I can remember everything that happened...

When I first tried to install a profile photo, I tried selecting the photo from an existing photo album. It didn't seem to do anything, so I, of course, clicked it multiple times. Then I tried uploading a photo, but used one I took of one of the quilts hanging at the taping to make sure I would know where it came from if it worked. That one showed up, so I decided to replace it with the picture I wanted by uploading it from my computer, which I did. Great! It's working!

Then I somehow saw that I had a slide show rather than a single photo (now I can figure out how to see that so I can't see if I still have that). So, I looked at my profile pictures and saw that when I installed that profile picture, it had automatically created a new photo album that had all of those photos in it. So, I clicked on the picture of the quilt from the taping and clicked "Delete". I don't think I got any feedback indicating that it had worked (I'm starting to realize that I won't get that feedback and instead I need to check in a different way to see if things worked), so I think I went back to my main profile page and then went back to the photo album and it was no longer there.

Now, to get rid of all of the extra copies of my quilt. I clicked on one of those and clicked "Delete". Then clicked on another one and clicked "Delete". Oops. Deleting the photo in that album that also exists in another album was the wrong thing to do. Now, when I look at my photo albums, instead of that picture I see an icon of a camera. My profile picture went away for a little while, but then magically came back.

So, the profile picture seems to be fine now, but that picture is messed up in my photo albums. I'll try to delete it completely and upload a new copy at some point, but I'm going to leave it for now so I don't mess things up further....

I was not given any option to delete. Why have they made this so darned difficult!

Rita, it's a work in progress. As with any new software, there are bugs to clean up.

I work with Capt'n John as the new moderator and it will take some time to get into my new role. So, I am listening and will see what I can do to help.

I looked back and it was "Remove" rather than "Delete". The memory's getting old.....

It is time for Bubbe to chime in - The social media part with our profiles and such needs work - but there are a few other fires (with the change) that are taking serious precedent - stuff that the general public probably isn't even aware of.

So why the change might be the bigger question? Originally Web guy Bob built the site from scratch. Every time someone on the team (or perhaps even some of you) had an idea Bob would build another portion to the site. The site had become extremely overwhelming to maneuver. But that all said, there was even a bigger problem, if something ever happened to Bob, TQS would be in BEYOND SERIOUS trouble - because Bob wrote all the code. It would be like driving without insurance. So a change had to be made to a system that many web people are aware of.. ....Yes, there are a lot of issues and we are chipping at them around the clock in order of importance.

On an up note - we just taped 10 new shows and are THRILLED with every one of them. I learned SOOOO much!

We really value each and every one of you - and trust me, we are in as much pain about the switch as you are - we have hired a person to address the social media aspects of the site. She will learn and guide us along the way as far as that part goes.

thanks everyone from the bottom of my heart!

It helps to know a little bit about the background and why it had to be changed. It helps us persevere too. I sure all of you must be worried and tired. Keep chipping away and so will we.

That must have been hard moving away from his baby. Thank you Bob we had good times there and it was easier to use than my chicken forum. Hope you're finding it satisfying working on this one and not tearing your hair out.
My husband works on software support and I've seen the grief it gives him.

You go, Bob! You do amazing work. Thanks for listening to all of us.

                              Welcome, Tribblemom! do you quilt?

The site s a bit of a pain now, but I sure like the direction it is moving in. Keep up the good work.

Alex, can't wait to see the new shows. The shows keep me company while I sew. I've started rewatching from the beginning. Lots of fun!
