Hi, Margo, I didn't have any luck. Just with children's skirts. I also searched Annie Smith and know that she had a skirt made from precuts, but I couldn't find it. I have a bali pop that I wanted to use and could use some skirts. I may have to get a skirt pattern and just sew the bali pop into fabric to use if it won't look bad. It might not look good. Thanks anyway, Jan

It seems as if all you really need is a simple dirndel (sp?)skirt of a tube pleated onto a waist band. The only measurements you need for this is the length, your waist measurement & your hIp measurement.
I would suggest that you decide how long you want to make your skirt, add on 2" for the hem & 1/2" for stitching it into the waistband, and cut your strips that long sew them together so that the width equals a minimum of your hip measurement plus 6-8 inches ( if you like your skirts fuller keep adding in strips). Join the 2 ends together leaving space for a 7" zip. Then set in the zip. Take a length of fabric as long as your waist measurement plus 2"-3", mark the waist measurement with pins leaving a seam allowance at one end and the full surplus at the other for an overlap to take either hooks or a buttonhole. Then dividing the length of the waist band into quarters and the skirt width into quarters match up these points, continue dividing the gaps between the pins into halfs until you have an attractive quantities of pleats (you could be up to 1/32nds) smooth the pleats around the body and stitch.

Thanks Rosemary. Your post seems like a written version of a skirt tutorial I found by Shrimp Salad Circus. I was going to do that one, but ended up buying a pattern at Joann's. Then I tried to use parchment paper to trace a pattern from the pattern so as to save cutting it. my tape which held the parchment paper together got stuck on the pattern. I got mad and cut the pieces carefully so as to hopefully save the pattern and put it away until another day when I have time to do the skirt. I have 3 1/2 yards of cloth that will do one of the views on the pattern. I am not so sure I'm up to making fabric from the bali pop. There are so many things to do with it, that I'm tempted to use it to make a quilt anyway. I saw a quilt on pinterest that used one with a unique way of doing it so that the light colors were on half and the darks on the other. I'll see if I can post a link to it. Thanks, Norma for the Annie Smith link. Just need a charm pack or two to do one of those. thanks people, Jan

Rosemary, I just might do your skirt except with an elastic waist using the simple measurements on the Shrimp Salad site. Anyway here's the quilt from a bali pop I found on pinterest. http://pinterest.com/pin/362187995003134642/

If you are doing an elastic waist to your skirt all you have to do is add 4" to your finished length and it would be far easier to make than a quilt - for a start it doesn't have to be flat  Personally I would suggest seaming the strips together with a serger, if you have one, or zig-zag the edges together after seaming them; and also make your seams 3/8"ths instead of 1/4". Good luck and hope to see a new skirt on you soon
