I joined in the past month and disappointed that there are very limited shows to watch and does not seem to be any new ones be aired. I hope I am missing something here. How often do they post new shows? I join antoher quilt tv program after this one and at least I don't have pay for past epsiodes and it cost less than one 1/3 what I paid here.

No. You are totally wrong. This site sets the standard.

I have almost no shows to watch. How would you consider that sets the standards. Maybe you have been member long enought to have alot of shows to watch. I have been a member 2 weeks and no new shows. What am I pay for? Of course we all have our own opinion. I was hoping someone could help, find my way around the site. But thank you for your opinion.

Uniquestitched, the TQS membership is like a magazine subscription. When you join TQS you are entitled to view all of the shows that are premiered during your membership period, and you have access to those shows forever. Just like a magazine that you purchase....you can refer back to it over and over.

There are new TQS shows premiered every two weeks. The current show with Cindy Walter premiered on November 19 (2012) and you should have access to that one if you joined before the 19th.
The next one, with Edyta Sitar will premier on December 3 (2012) and the annual TQS Legend show will premier on December 17 (2012).
You can see a list of the series 11 shows here: watch/

I'm sorry that you aren't pleased with your purchase, but hope you will continue to explore the site and see that there is lots of content here. Have you checked out all of the videos in the TQS Classroom? Access them from the CLASSROOMS link on the purple bar. And the PROJECTS link has lots of explore too!

Please post here if I can answer any questions for you.

Thank you Margo, for your kind response. But it seems a little slow with new videos. Thank you for explaining how the new videos are released. That was some of the information I was looking for. I have looked on site and no where does it states that info. I have checked out the class rooms, also. Again thank you for your kind response.

            Hi uniquestitched -

I'm a member of the quilt show and of qnntv (not sure if that is the same tv site you are a member of). One of the differences between how the videos are handled between the 2 sites is that I have access to all qnntv videos while I'm a member, but can't see them if I let my membership lapse, while on TQS I will have access to the videos forever, even if I let my membership lapse. It's just a difference in philosophy. For my personal taste, I've liked the videos on TQS more than the ones on QNNTV. The only show on QNNTV that I keep going back to is "Quit It", but, again, that's my personal taste.

The thing I like best about TQS is the community. That may or may not appeal to you. I've made some very good friends at TQS, only a few of whom I've met in person. That is a benefit to me of being active on the forum. I've really enjoyed the classrooms, especially when I've attended the classes with others on the forum. Another good place for classes, IMO, is craftsy.com. Again, it depends on what you are looking for.

My other favorite benefit is the BOM patterns. These are not your run-of-the-mill BOMs, which generally look boring to me. These are patterns that will really test and expand your skills, with a lot of extra information in the patterns which also teach technique and a lot of support from the community.

These are the things that I like best about this site. I hope that is helpful to you.

            Nancy

This is a great question and we need to make it clearer on the site. Margo is correct about a new show coming out every 2 weeks. These are collected in your account and never taken away, even if you don't join next year. That way you don't have to worry about rushing to see a show right away, even at the end of your membership.

Also, we always include a gift certificate for a full past season so the new member has 13 extra shows to start with. Please also check the free show section. You will find about 5 shows there including all the legend shows. Make sure you use the gift certificate and you will have about 18 shows right from the start.

Welcome as a new member lovely to have you on board and expecialy to the best site around for us quilters, and yes I think you need to explore the site a lot more when first joining that way you can see whats available as said below. The BOM's are fantastic here on TQS and the best I have ever seen.

The shows here are also just so fantastic also and a joy to watch, I have learnt far far far more here, what I love about the shows, especialy as I live in a country town and dont have the class's to attend that are avaiable in larger towns, the shows let me have a wonderful overall view of all the many many different ways of patchworking and quilting around the world, which I then can choose what interests me the most and follow up myself, I have found so many different ways that I would not have known about without TQS.

I have to also say that I can see the difference between people who TQS and people who dont, not sure if anyone else would agree with me, but the overall knowledge is far greater when you TQS, from fabrics, quilting, patchworking, threads and just about everything in between.

Once again welcome and hope to see you around our site.

Gosh, reading all about what you get as a new member makes me want to join all over again! Welcome 'uniquestitched'. This forum is the most fantastic platform for any quilting advice you could ever think of. And for somebody like me living in Ireland with little access to all the fantastic teachers you have in the USA it is wonderful to be able to watch even a little of what they do and learn from it. I cannot even begin to tell you how much better my quilting experience has become since I joined about 1 1/2 years ago. I hope you will have a similar experience. Cheers, Rita.

I joined TQS around 4 years ago at the Road to California quilt show. Cap'n John signed me up (Thanks, Cap'n John!)

AFter a while, i figured out that I could buy DVD's of the past shows, which I have done (my mom likes to watch with me, and she doesn't like to watch on the computer). Every time I renew, I get more seasons added on to my list of shows that are available to watch online. I eagerly anticipate the new shows every 2 weeks.

The most important thing for me, however, has been the community that I found here. I have grown so much in skills and imagination, and found good friends around the world on the forums.

I hope you stay, look around, explore, keep coming back. Next week's show is with Edyta Sitar, whose previous show here prompted a gigantic block exchange among our members. I can't wait!

i joined just before that previous Edyta Sitar show and i was the first i saw - i immediately joined in the exchange that came out of that and have been a hooked member of TQS since then. i love it that i can watch the shows when i have the time - and just about every show gives me some ideas i want to try out - if we didn´t have the interval i never would actually do my projects.

have a look at the free shows, the past shows, and make use of the freebee shows you get with each purchased subscription - but it will be difficult to decide on which season. i have now purchased most of the back-seasons - and i do go back and watch them again and again - sometimes just parts when i´m looking for a certain technique or idea.

The Forum has become one of my favorite places - i look in at least twice a day whenever i can. as i´m located in switzerland i´m in a similar position to rita and really find that TQS has done wonders to my knowledge and inspiration for quilting - and for finding help to just about any question i could possibly have.

click your way around the site - check out some of the old forum topics - get involved in the new ones - and enjoy

welcome aboard a site filled with knowledge - fun - inspiration - support - critique - and many fabulous friends

or is it "hear! Hear!" ??

Doesn't anyone here wonder what might come out of the new Edyta show? I feel like I need to brace myself, and yet I want whatever comes also. Time to finish up some old UFO's (Yikes - that could be a whole new thread ops: ) and ready for the new year. So many quilts, so little time... :?

Oh gosh, I hear ya..... I'm just now quilting my reels quilt. Was it on the Daily Blog that they showed us a picture of Edyta's quilt made from the HST exchange? I wonder what she has up her sleeve for us on this show? I've seen her new book, I've wanted to do a Lone Star quilt forever.
