I am currently making a nine patch lap quilt. My initial size of fabric pieces are 2 1/2" they are made to 6 1/2 blocks then sewn again to make a 18 1/2" square as a center block. The remaining nine patches will be pieced individually around the center block to complete the quilt. There are a lot of seams and I am worried about the bulk of some of the seams. Is there any particular way the seams should go :?:
To reduced some of the bulk I have opened only a few of the main joining seams in attempt to keep the quilt flat and reduce the bulk. Is there a TQS show that highlights the making of nine patches or an on-line program that I could watch so to learn a better way of making nine patches. I appreciate any assistance anybody can give me :lol: .

Personally, I prefer to "swirl" my intersections so that they lie perfectly flat. Here is a good tutorial for doing that:
