    Using fabrico and pigma pens

I was trying to draw a stretched checkerboard with black pens and they seemed dry. It didn't do a great job. I don't see how I can weave white and black cloth in this design. Maybe the markers were old and somewhat dry. I think if they weren't dry I'd have a problem with bleeding. I am trying to do a quilt based on my son's drawing. Maybe I need to order from dharma trading. I was thinking that they would have fresher markers if they sell a lot of them. Any advice? Thanks, Jan

Jan, because both Fabrico and Pigma pens are designed for use on fabric, you really shouldn't have trouble with the ink bleeding. Sounds like new pens will help.

Another option would be to use Fabric Ink. You can order it here: http://www.jukeboxquilts.com/store/allPurposeInks.php
It's the same "ink" as in the Fabrico markers, but you use Fantastix to apply the ink, and can control the amount you apply.

Here are some helpful hints for using the inks: http://www.jukeboxquilts.com/hints/allPurposeInks.php

I used these inks to create a quilt using my grandchildren's artwork for designs: (click two times on the photo for a closer look)

Bridget uses the same inks for her gorgeous flower quilts:

Thanks Margo. When I get through my next surgery Monday, I'll put my attention to those links. Thanks, Jan
