    Sewing with Silk Dupioni

Help! I just bought some beautiful silk dupioni - couldn't help myself. But it does ravel quite a bit. Is it best to use some kind of fusable liner with it or is there some other suggestion to keep it from raveling.

    Different fabric, but same issues.

I use a fusible polymesh and this helps tremendously. I cut it after applying the polymesh and no more raveling! the stabilizer also supports the fabric for stitching which silk can " run" sometimes.

I love working with silk dupioni, but I do use very light weight fusible interfacing with it. Have fun and share photos. Cheers,

Debby Maddy was just at our guild. She does a lot with silk. She sells a stabilizer on her website that is wider than what you can get at the stores. Try googling her.

Yes, I would use a light weight fusible interfacing and a very sharp--NEW--needle with diameter. Silk likes to keeps its holes so you want to keep them small.
