      Judith, Dawn, Wendy,
Please help me, I don't know where 'quilt of the day' is. I'm sure I'll enjoy the spot, once I get there. So, please send directions, location, etc
      Thanks a bunch

I'm sure you get a daily email from TQS. Just open the latest one and scroll down quite a ways, and there is the Quilt Of The Day. I thought I found it on the blog earlier today, but didn't just now. Maybe I flew right past it. You can also see the quilt on my profile page.

Geneva, do I remember right that you have the Bernina 830? If so your problem can be that you don't have the latest update installed. A lot of people were frustrated by this problem. After updating the machine it almost never happens.

Marilyn, the "See Quilts" didn't work on my iPad. But, I did slow down, and found it on the daily blog.

Anyway, here are some pictures of the quilting that Dana did, and the crystals. It is a two sided quilt (paid extra for the thread changes both top and bottom. I love how the back turned out!

              The back.....

And here is the border on the back...

              And, the front.....

Well, time to get back to doing rows!

Dawn your quilt is wonderful! I love the color gradation. And Dana did a great job quilting. She's so good!

You can go to the top banner of the TQS website and click on "See Quilts". There is a drop down box that lists several different web pages. "Quilt of the Day" is one of them. There are some amazing quilts on this site.

By the way, I was thinking, has anyone heard from Nancy? I sure miss her.

Norma, I'm amazed you remember that I have a Bernina! Mine is a 730, but when I take Sybil in I will ask Mr. Fix It to give her an update. Thanks for the info.

Someone asked me on one of these threads if I was named after Geneva Switzerland. I was not, but lots of times I use that reference for people when they give me a dumb stare when I tell them my name is Geneva. Then I get scared when they say they've never heard of Geneva Switzerland. :woohoo:

It's been crazy busy here the past 2 weeks. I took my mom to the hospital for a lumbar puncture Thursday. It really helped her symptoms of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. It was amazing. I hope the effects last for several months. The grandbabies have been visiting so tomorrow I will sew all day!

                  Take care , geneva

This is the latest sewing I have been doing - making buoyancy bags & blocks for Tidger and lacing them in, along with strapping loops.

Unfortunately we have just had a really hard frost and a small smattering of snow (just enough to look pretty) making it unlikely to go for a paddle. Also we are just starting to decorate the lounge, before a new recliner sofa arrives next month, including new carpets, which means getting everything out. The lounge is where the majority of the book live - this is going to take some doing
On the up side I have got Geneva's blocks cut out, although I had a heck of a time trying to track down my batiks - sewing room needs a good sorting out too

I am finally back to the retreat! My brain is tired and I just hope what I type makes sense.

My DH took me to my mom's last weekend and in fact, we left a day early as it was raining here, he wasn't on his second job (construction), but not freezing rain, so all right to leave early. It ended up we arrived very late on Thursday night so had both all days of Friday & Saturday.

I did ask for some pictures --
I thought a few months ago that the next trip to the town, I wanted to get photos of the chapel where we were married. So one morning, my hubby took mom & me there. It was impromptu and I told hubby we weren't doing photos. (hence the lack of "outfits") But then I wanted one with people, not just the building. So he took some of my mom & me. The chapel is named for 3 of my great-uncles and 1 of my sisters and I chose to be married there. We've been married 32 1/2 yrs.

This one is Sunday as my mom was nearly ready for church and we were nearly ready to hit the highways for home. She had make up and nice hair, I had none and was in sweats for the long ride.

I took a hand-embroidery project I had traced via light box for my mom to work on. She can't do much but does (sadly) still drive so is out a few days a week. I wish I had a pix of me going over the project with her. She is 90 y/o on Jan 19, Tuesday, and so explaining and showing her I had brought all the notions she'd need, showing the instructions that are color by color, took awhile.

Monday was more writing and editing for my DH's presentation and Tuesday he presented. I know I have over 10 hours of work into it.... and he spoke for 20 mins! He is an introvert and talked faster as he went.

Then Saturday (yesterday) we moved our son back to his university. He is in an apartment and not on campus housing so needed our truck and Dad's umpf for moving help. I carried a few things, did a tad of unpacking, and mostly gave him a hug goodbye. He'll be home for some time between now & May for a break.

I've started today with my exercises and an hour of yoga.... too much sitting for the ride to my mom's and the ride (in the farm truck) to the U!

My hope is to start to assemble blocks to a top today.... but DH has 2015 records to turn in and some of that is my work. But it is doubtful I will get in sewing time. I just missed being caught up with all of you.

Rosemary, I have BH's 2014 mystery part 1 cut for my leaders & enders. Not much progress!
Marianne, I was also taught to use scraps as a "Linus blanket" to start & stop. I threw away a lot of pieces full of thread. It is faster, I think.
Lotti, oh the ipad is super cute and your scenery photos are beautiful! I wish my brand-new passport had stamps on it from Europe & Africa!
Dawn, congratulations on your Quilt of the Day! It is lovely!! :applause:

Lovely pics of you and your mom, Joyce. Time with her must be very special.

And don't worry, the sewing will wait until you get the "chores" done!

Sorry to have been out of the loop lately, Geneva. I've been lurking but haven't gotten around to posting anything. Since I have a blog, I put all of my stuff there rather than posting in a bunch of different places.

Congratulations on all of the new grandbabies popping up all over the place! They are all so cute and I appreciate you all sharing pictures! And you guys are all creating such beautiful quilts! Wonderful!!
